I burn ALL my Bluray discs - 25 and 50 gigs via USB2.0 without problems so that
proves the speed on the bus is ok.I use both ImgBurn and Nero portable without
issues so I would rule them out as well. I use cheap unbranded media also
without issue. I have an i5 processor with 16 gig of memory but I feel that is
negated somewhat by using the USB2.0 bus. My writer is similar to this but
doesn't have USB3.00 support.

Spike, You could try a different media. Buy a few unbranded ones and see how it
goes.Always burn at the lowest speed.
