Well... I installed the new drive and everything seemed great until I
tried burning some stuff... I have created 3 coasters so far :|
At 90p for each coaster and only 7 attempts left... anyone got any
idea's ?
Some system info...
Windows 7 Ultimate / Service Pack 1 (64 Bit)
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU / 2.40GHz
6GB RAM
TDK BD-R 25GB Recordable Blu-Ray discs used
Device Manager shows the correct...
LG WH14NS40 Drive
The drive reads my old Archived Data DVD's fine.
Using Nero 64 portable version, the bare bones cut down version that
doesn't install itself into Windows... just a stand-alone burner.
It has burned 1000s of DVDs trouble free over the years (with my older
drive).
The new drive attempts to burn but exits as soon as it tries.
Using the lowest burn speed available (x4)
Have tried on UDF and ISO options.
I have also tried the Windows 7 Ultimate (built-In) burn files to CD
option... same result, exits straight away = coaster number 4.
It told me to check that the Firmware was up to date.
I'm not too sure about updating Firmware... its irreversible, I have
tried it once before on a New Motherboard that I fitted and it had Bad
Effects for the Windows XP drive that I had on one of my HDDs.
(it started to run really slow after the Firmware was updated)
Any ideas anyone ?
