As to filing systems, I've started using SuperCat by
no-nonsense-software. Stick a disk in the drive, press "catalog" and
it reads all the filenames from the disk, which you can then give a
number or other identifier to. I put a small return address label with
that number on the paper sleeve I keep the disks in. I can search
either by disk number or filename, and it helps keep track of what's
where.
