My 7yr old DVD drive has finally packed up, ALL of my archives being
on DVD's (about 1500 of them) has left me with very limited posting
options, I can only post stuff already on HDD for now at least.
I was always planning on switching to M-Disc or Blu-Ray anyway so have
ordered a new drive that will allow me to archive 25GB at a time
instead of the usual 4GB per disc.
I dare not go higher than 25GB each just in case of data loss, 4GB was
bad enough to lose, 25GB would already be massive.
I will eventually re-burn all the DVD's and cut 1500 down to 300 ish
:)
About time really ! I have DVD's taking up all my shelf space, also
have them in the window and even under my bed.
