There would be any number of causes for the error message.
You are going to look at doing more research to narrow down the
probabilities?
Google "Vista fail to set data" as a beginning.
In the meantime make sure you are logged in as Administrator and try
installing again in "Win95 compatibility mode".
You are aware of how to manage restore points?
