For every tearful story, there are three others guaranteed to bring a
smile of hope to one's face. AND!! If one is a total hardcase, there
is always a koala story as a backup!
Nothing sells a newspaper like a thirsty koala!
And this, from a true Dutch Gentleman, who considers Australia his

The extraordinary amount of money being sent from
Queensland (where they are flooding) to help out the south where
they are burning (literally) in the streets, is truly heartwarming.
Nothing trifling about that either.

"lucky" we don't have to.
I am interested in the numbers of people reported as refusing
handouts, citing their neighbour needs the food/clothing/money
more than they. Never mind "they" only have the clothes they
are standing in as well.

Hearts and wallets were again wide open this morning at collection
points down town this morning. The Westpac bank had a line up down the
street of people waiting patiently to donate.
