That is NOT a self-extracting file at all. It's a simple .zip file. I
think that what's confusing you is that Embird lets you work with a
zip file ALMOST as if it's a folder, but it really isn't. The
differences are ... well, that's what you're experiencing!
You're really better off extracting the contents of zip files to a
folder and working with them from there. You can delete the original
zip file or keep it as a souvenir. Or, more seriously, as a backup for
when you clobber an original by saving over it, as we ALL do!
