Baby Locks are typically made by Brother for them to their spec (I
think). After a short period of time Brother releases the same model
with an upgrade to the software for themselves under the Brother name.
I have two Brother machines, and they are b really nice machines.
Brother seems to lead the market in user friendly but I believe most
have caught up with their technology. The single needle machine took a
while to get tuned properly before it worked really well. The PR600 six
needle machine has always worked flawlessly for years without so much
as dusting the thing. We have friends with Janome machines that never
use them. Those machines are typically not as user friendly. Now I am
talking back a few years and things may have changed in the last few,
like a decent size screen etc....
In short used machine is going to work as well as the tech that tunes
the thing. We wouldn't change from the competitor machines we saw at
the time.
