The fonts must be installed, so they can be used by all your
applications. They must be installed BEFORE you open PE-Design. It won't
recognize a font that wasn't already there when it starts up.
Installing a font can be done either 'permanently' or temporarily.
How you install a font depends on what kind of computer and operating
system you're using. Macs are different than PC's.
I can't answer for MacOS, but in Windows since, open the control panel
(Start/Settings/Control panel/) and select the FONTS icon. When you see
the font lists in the explorer window, go to FILE / Install New Fonts.
Depending on your settings, you may have to access the File menu
differently; for instance, under Vista, from Control Panel you may first
have to select 'Appearance and Personalization' to get to the Fonts
icon. I'm not sure about Windows 7, but it's similar.
There IS a simpler way to install a font - Open Windows Explorer,
navigate to C:\windows\fonts\ and drag the font file(s) into the folder.
You should then see a message saying "installing xxx font".
OR, you can open a font for temporary use by double-clicking on it in
Windows Explorer. This will display the font using the built-in
FontView. As long as that window is open (it can be minimized, if you
wish) the font will be available for use. Again, most applications won't
recognize it unless the application is started AFTER the font is opened.
Hope this helps!
