Hopefully, someone with a PR1000 will be able to answer your question
definitively;

But some quick searches find that there are Windows drivers available
for Windows 2000 through Windows 7 (not Mac, though). Whether this is
what you need or not I don't know, but it sounds promising.

Personally, I PREFER using media to move designs from the computer to
the sewing machine. You don't trip over cords, you don't have to have
all your equipment turned on at once, and you don't have to worry about
connectivity.

The next best thing would be if sewing machines had wireless network
connectivity - but talk about adding complexity!!
