My apologies!
Herb posted correctly and I in error! Embird will not handle .cnd format,
as yet.

Embird is a really good, and cheap one that is expandable, for a price of
course.
Get the "Iconizer" with it. It locks into your operating system (assuming
Windows) and displays the embroidery patterns in your files Explorer as
icons. Right click and you get stitch information and bigger icons for
closer examination.
The extra$$ toys are transferable when you upgrade and always work if you
start digitizing patterns using the extended options.
Fairly cheap and well worth it too. I found a discounter online of for a
slightly lower price. Dusan (software writer) send my password key for the
software at 2 am New Years Day after only a few hour delay. He has also
helped me with quirks that occurred when I changed O/S versions. Good
service and the product keeps getting better.
