ummm.. depends on the topic, Gary.
For posting advice specific to ABCP
you could search out/download/read:
From: myBiz <mB@ABCP.posting.invalid>
Newsgroups: alt.binaries.crafts.pictures
Subject: repost------ - Usenet[ABCP]ToolStash.rar (0/5)

There is a whole archive of tools and
information in those articles.
For generic Usenet advice which is largely
applicable anywhere on Usenet?

If you are looking for advice on security
issues related to posting (anything) into
ABCP..?.. I say stick to these three things.
1. Use a "real" looking bogus email address
and place "invalid" after it.
[Using "ctrl+H" or just "H" in
Agent will show you my headers
whilst you are reading this post.
Note *my* "From" header as an example]
2. Get yourself a subscription to a NSP
to post with. Download from where
ever you want that works for you.
http://www.sonic-news.com/
http://www.news.astraweb.com/aup.html
https://www.forteinc.com/apn/subscribe.php
3. Never use eMail to communicate with
anyone purporting to be a member of
this NG. Do ALL your discussions here
in plain view. Safer that way.. IF you are
posting OR admitting you are downloading
files.
Now, there is another side to ABCP and
that is digitising images. For that 'work' you
can basically forget #2.
The rest will become plain over time.
And always do what you did do.. ask
what you do not comprehend. Do not
jump to conclusions, as a newbie.
That is possibly the best of advice :-)
welcome.
