Did yours look like the picture at the website??
http://www.sewazdesigns.com/mylar-designs/fs-mylar-snowflake-pink-ribbon/prod_900.html
I was surprised at the stitch coverage. There is not usually so much
for mylar. It is usually only a decorative stitch that allows the
mylar to shine through.
Even the sample on the website looks a bit "ratty".

Not sure if it would take the "twinkle" off the mylar, but would
dropping it in a solvy mixture (leftover solvy scraps and water) and
pinning it out flat till it dried solid help with the floppiness??

If the twinkle disappeared, sprinkle some pink glitter on it!!

Sew it with pink metallic thread?? Slowly does it on the zig zag
though!

Fresh out of ideas with this one!
I think adding stabiliser will take away the "sheen" that mylar
allows.
Try the solvy bath and see what happens. If it doesn't work, at least
it will wash out again with no damage.
