A better and larger raster image for this and most other sports logos
can be found at:
http://www.sportslogos.net/
Vector logos can be found at numerous websites (Googling for
sport logos vector
is useful.
You probably know about these, but if not... Two sources for
identifying typefaces are WhatTheFont and Identifont.
http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/
http://www.identifont.com/
WhatTheFont requires uploading a clean bitmap with no touching
letters, all vertical, and a couple of other limitations.
Identifont asks a series of questions either about the entire font or,
if you click on 'identify a font', just a subset of the characters.
But in this particular case, neither was of any use at all. When
relatively easy, I prefer to do lettering directly instead of tracing,
but here I just let the autotrace do its thing (as can be seen by the
very poor "9" - even after tinkering with the bitmap).
