The blunter tatami style ending works well on curves. Smoothing the
curve (in most cases).
The pointed ending works better on straight lines.
The straight line between two linear points thing doesn't require any
bending, so as long as the points are lined up (straight) the edge
will be neat (and not dotty crooked).

The second bit of your conclusion, I doan think so.
I am not one to blame the tools... all the time...
Tools, in this instance, means the application. /laff

Hmm. I'm not sure why Herself canned it.
It was very fixable.

Now I've upset you!
You diddun know that various weights of thread are used??
(I've been keeping that for special from ya...rofl)
50wt for some heirloom, some lace and fine baby designs??
30wt is a favourite for redwork and sparse designs that need a bit of
oomph??
40wt is generally used by the masses for everything.
And then there is the textured range of thread for a fuzzy or "woolly"
look....
/grin
It's like knitting. There is the fine stuff, and there is the
heavyweight stuff and the textured stuff.
Depends on the look you want to achieve.

I am surprised that one who has been here longer than me, can't see
what is wrong with a sewout.
But, the request sounded genuine. /shrug
It only needed a little tweaking. Certainly not a lot.

Yeah, I get that.
I am just really interested in what Herself has fallen over Herself to
sew and gush thanks in years gone by... when I wouldun have sewn it
with someone else's thread ... /grin
And yet She tosses Her own efforts.
>Finding a source for digitising that can be loaded to a machine and

The Holy Grail of digitising.
If only the Ladies realised that "click and sew" is just bullshit on
the side of the box.
Digitising takes time... a lot of time, and a huge understanding of
everything involved from the machine to the fabric.
>Twould suck to be <snicklefritz>.

Herself is prolly a great nurse. Hope so.....
>Lazy, ignorant, and patronising (in "hawking her fork"),

Misguided... as in Her judgement of GB... prolly.
But he sucked a lot in. She was just one in a long line.
It's just what he does. It's his hobby.
>.. thanks for your post.
>
Nah worries.
If that is Her digitising effort, I don't think She should give up so
quickly.
It had a few quirks that needed ironing out, but the compensation was
excellent and the satin was well under control.
Those mortgage people must mean a lot to Her for Her to be so worried
about it.
Pixie :-))
