This is not even basic stuff. It's a waste of space even mentioning
it. If a program can't do these things, then it can't do anything.

Use preset cloth types

Iffy setting at best on a program that is guessing what you want.
Clipartropolis produces smooth line clipart. Not so sophisticated
stuff. If that is your thing, then all good.
The graphics formats listed don't mean that you have a good graphic to
start with.
Cross stitch looks like cross stitch... in every cross stitch program
I have ever tried. It doesn't tell me anything about the cross size,
whether I can have double or triple stitched crosses. Whether I can
adjust it later if I want a bigger/smaller cross.
And you can set the finished design size with other programs as well,
regardless of the size of the graphic. That doesn't guarantee the
quality of the graphic to start with.
"Advanced users can also...."
Advanced users?? These features (density, compensation, underlay) are
every day stuff. Every design stuff. Cos every design is different.
There's no sugar coating digitising. You have to understand what you
want to achieve in order to understand why you are clicking on
something.
The price is prolly the most "attractive" thing. It's not offering a
lot in the way of substance, but it's not costing an arm and a leg
either.
If you just want to fluffy around with a bit of "fun" and not expect
too much in the way of results, then it could be the program to try if
one is determined to buy one.
I went to the Letzrock website (through the customer comments link).
Australian site. I zoomed in on a few... you is only getting basic
stuff. As reflected in the price. This is not a critcism.
It's rugged, but She's happy with it. Herself has no clue about
choosing stitch lengths. She is accepting all the defaults in the
program and I'm not entirely convinced Herself understands how stitch
length is affecting the look of Her work.
But She's happy with it.
The price She is charging for Her finished designs tells you heaps.

If the Industry keep changing stuff like they are doing, we are all
going to have to find a way to keep ourselves sewing. They change the
formats, they change what the machine can actually "see". They FORCE
you to upgrade in the end.

I still can't find a program that does more, or better, than my
original VIP. Lord help me when my dongle dies. But I know the program
inside out. I can do stuff with it that my fellow upgraders with Hus
programs cannot.
Hus3D was such a joke they rolled out 4D within 12 months. Hus5D is
doing the rounds now in the US of A and from what I see online, it's
still pulling the wool over the eyes of the compulsive upgraders.
The only thing I can't do with VIP is convert the newer formats.
Organiser has been helpful with that.
PHC format is proving a pothole in the road. I'm not keen to load
every single program available just to open a handful of files.
As a launching program into the world of digitising, one has to weigh
up needs v cost.
If it is filling a need (as opposed to a fantasy "want") and they
understand what it DOESN'T do... then mebbe $300 is a way to find out?
Would I buy it? No. But I preferred to learn a harder program that
gave me more options.
So it's pretty much up to what luv2sew needs from Her software and is
prepared to ask of Herself by way of learning.
There ain't no learning required for this program. But you doan get
much for just accepting the defaults either.
By way of a yes/no answer, this isn't what Herself was looking for.
But I hope luv2sew understands more of what She is NOT getting, rather
than be sucked in by "features" that are just things that would be in
any program.
