Jes' answering. Professional machines and profession pattern formats do not
carry colour information,, but rather they carry needle information.

As I explained earlier (but you won't listen to anybody but yourself) the
pattern cmes with a needle to colour chart which the operator will set up on
say 12 needle supplies  on 10 or 12 stations at a time, loads the pattern,
and presses go. The needles change automagically and sew out using 12 heads
/ stations, at one time. There is usually no stopping and no thread changing
until the pattern is done on all heads (linked together mechanically)

While this is happenning 10 or 12 more pieces of material are being hooped
and ready for the next swap.
