Herb, in as much as you would resist being
*told* I strongly suggest you do go and read
the FAQ docs in the Usenet Tools posting.
Yourself and others contributed to the contents
of those publications. Where you see misinformation
and/or errors do feel free to point to the content.
Herb, your implied reasoning for posting in the
rAr format indicates you have a poor understanding
of why the use of rAr is necessary. It has very little
(next to nothing) to do with compression.
There exists many Usenet groups where
JPEG and PDF are posted "out in the open".
For ABCP there could be a strong case built
for posting sewing files in like manner. The very
nature of the groups audience, joined with the
functions of the group, are a prime factor
precluding such methods.
Where I am not being _very clear_ in your read simply
point to that which confuses you.
As an aside?
I doubt you are listening to the heckler, however
you have proven in the past to be influenced
by some whose agenda is more to do with themselves
then with progressing the group, educating new members,
and/or contributing anything other than props for their
owned egos.
Be very sure I am capable of and will do whatever it takes
to keep ABCP viable and functioning for *everyone*.
That is my politic... nothing else is of any importance.
Posters come and posters go.. nobody is indispensable.
Take any install of brinkmanship out of this place. That
practice is surplus to requirements in ABCP.
Whatever a member learns in this place is able to
be adapted into _any_ Usenet group. It is hoped
many will take the conduct they absorb here, using
that as background to enjoy their particular choices
within Usenet, just as both you and I do.
I work towards preserving Usenet values.. I trust you
share that ethos - at the very least.
For those who are not certain of where they are
I attach the groups list for just one server.

Subscription does not require "membership"
nor "signup", nor any obligation, just download/upload
whatever binary one desires, uncensored.
cheers
