errrrmmmm..Ima..??.. I am not reading you are sure of just which
medium you are using to peruse and collect your goodies???
This is Usenet.
Usenet is not connected to Torrents in any way.
Nor are there _any_ Usenet archives outside of Usenet that store
rAr files. Therefore neither of the options you mention would be of use to
you, in this case.
Also, I would submit, nor in any other (case) but
that is another topic.. lets just stick with this one, for now, eh?
What follows hasn't been canvassed (in detail) before today.. not
in my memory of ABCP. This, because the exercise was mostly
pointless there being many design sets poorly posted.
Therefore showing folks how to search would just prove frustrating
for them as results would be very mixed.
Things have changed.. there has, for some time now, been many
excellent posts put up. So it is maybe time to introduce some
search engine tips that will help folks as yourself.. those using
a newsreader.
I point to a specific here.
A "newsreader" is __n o t__ multi tasking Web/eMail/News
software, loosely referred to as "Browsers".
Software in the genre of Internet Explorer;Outlook Express;
Windows Live Mail; Netscape; Thunderbird and Opera's M2,
to name the few popularist Browsers, are _not_ "newsreaders".
Newsreaders have specific functions _designed for Usenet_.
A built in "search engine" is one of these "functions'..
In Agent the Help files will reach to much more information
than I post today. I lay out a basic example only, to provide
a working solution to your comment.
To wit...
"Musta missed em[sic]".
Use-->Help>Index>"search" AND "Global"
... to find - in your version of Agent - the like screens attached,
which do illustrate just two functions of the search engines
in Agent.
1. Using the "Find" dialog.
Where you know or are given some information on the post you seek
you can use the simplistic "Find" search engine.
Using the set name you posted a REQ for?
In the group list screen go to;
Edit>Find ---> type "Current"
The engine will take you to the latest post by <wildcat>.
And IF you have the group list/view set for
"sort by Thread with newest message first"..?..
.. using the F3 key will then take you to the two other
earlier posts by <Leonara> and <Lucy>.
In the screens attached you will see the target post by <Lucy>
highlighted, as found by the Find search engine..
2. Using "Global Search"
Possibly the most ingenious engine of Agent this tool
opens many doors in finding any post, engroupe or away
from group.
It is strongly recommended the Help file be studied to
discover many uses of this tool.
Using the set name you posted a REQ for?
The prime one I focus on here is the use of part of
the set name you posted a REQ for.
In the group list screen go to;
Edit>Global Search ---> type "Critters"
Next, tick only "Selected Groups and Folders only".
Click on "Find All".
The engine will search the whole of ABCP _as stored on your computer_.
You see the results listed on my computer in the screen attached.
These are just two functions of Agents search engines.
The simplest (read, easiest) however is the one where a helpful person
finds the post and then posts the "Message-ID" for an article in the target
posted set.
Like so;
Message-ID: <6IudnROQrMmZWZjRnZ2dnUVZ_qWdnZ2d@giganews.com>
or , as I prefer;
MiD: <6IudnROQrMmZWZjRnZ2dnUVZ_qWdnZ2d@giganews.com>
In the message screen just two swift left clicks of the mouse on the
highlighted link will force Agent to treat the link as a URL.
Agent will immediately do a search of your computer and retrieve
the post
OR
pop a dialogue asking you if you wish to go to the server to retrieve
the post.
As this is the easiest and most positive way to point to a particular
post you will see it used very often by folks who know.
Unfortunately for those using Browsers this search will not work.
So there is no point in proving MiDs for those folks. It is way more
productive to point them at a newsreader download and suggest
they go get one and learn the basics.

<agentenu200-652.exe> [3.6MB]
In conclusion?
Your ISP is outsourcing to Highwinds Media for your News.
HM is a leader in providing Usenet archiving.
You will find posts listed which date back to 2009... on their servers.
In short, there is not a recent post made to this NG that is not
retrievable by you using the steps outlined in the tutorial and in the
Agent Help files. I trust this information opens a whole new
aspect of Usenet for you.
cheers
