You are aware I and a few others co-wrote those
tutorials?? Feedback is always welcome.

And no doubt Lucy's REQ is not on other servers :-/
Often it is the case I and others have to "chase
servers" to find just what it is folks are posting
(text and/or binary) as their posts are being dropped
by servers - because they do not conform to Usenet
standards.
Lucy "banner posts".. others "banner post".
ALL have had advice on this problem. They _choose_ to
keep the bad practice up..?.. well in my book that is
__their problem__ when they miss out - they were told,
way back.
>I understand that my reply posting to Lucy does not meet the ABCP

Anything.. anything at all, anything you read in this
NG (as advice from myself, or "those who know") is
repetitive advice from ***Usenet*** guidelines, derived
from the RFCs, and known ""good practice".
ISP (and NSP) "sites" tell you how to download, very
few tell you how to post. Sites such as
"binaries4all.com" and those Newsbin tutorials
deliberately list information that is not correct and
will attract the ire of regular posters and downloaders
(leeches) alike, all over Usenet.
What is done here in ABCP (by regulars) is to sort the
wheat from the chaff so as to pass on _good
information_.. an' for little or no appreciation from
the masses, I would add.
Most, as you are doing, simply throw a tissy fit in
executing "the Finger".
There is the reality of any true intention to
"share" :-/
I digress...
The expression "ABCP guidelines" is used to simplify
sources, as is most other advice offered here -
simplified.
We (folks posting "help") have tried many many other
approaches to helping sewers new to Usenet get going.
The above has been found to be the _only_ approach that
half way works.. anything else is simply a waste of
effort in typing out..!
This is a "Fact of Life"... for ABCP. Period.

>>post)
>>AND
>>b.) waaaaayy oversize (>10000 lines) for servers to

And there is the problem, universally so, as in "not
just ABCP".
/sets recorder tab to "GO"
"I am alright Jack, it worked for me".
For what is maybe the towsanth time, I say again.
Pretty much anything can be posted, the
*ability* to do so does NOT then guarantee the post is
going to be accepted, or useful.
In again simplifying the "why" I can say with complete
confidence neither your own nor Lucy's "guidelines" are
going to work for you every time.. or anyone else, most
of the time.
The core problem is actually a lot deeper than you will
admit... to yourself.
Neither of you know what you are doing nor understand
even the very basics of how posts articles (the
components of posts) are accepted and distributed
by servers used in forming Usenet.
You yourself can add to that "I don't know what I am
posting". This is evident (to those who know) as your
post contains <thumbs.db> files, and is in *.pes format
for the designs. The first is wasteful (data) and a
breach of your own computer security.
The second is just wasteful.
There are exceptionally few occasions when *.pes is
required. OTOH... the *.hus format is universal and a
much lower (smaller) payload for both the poster and
the leech.
But you will want to argue about both these facets of
**your** 'guidelines'... right? :-/

Been done hundreds if not thousands of times... in ABCP
alone :-'
You are not listening, fushtas. I have downloaded your
post and will repost it now.
Pay attention to how it is done. You will learn
something from the exercise as have many before you...
IF, if you really do want to "share".
>OR if before that someone posts they are unable to retrieve it feel
>free to do so.
>
The only way someone who has missed out is going to
*know* is from reading these text posts. Some do, a lot
do not. As you have admitted before today, you don't
(read group) unless it is something to do with what you
want or need to know.. I have that right, yes?
So it is when folks just chase up their posts or their
REQs.. and some - no, MANY - do not even do that
much..!
Be very clear on this.. I am NOT pointing to those
regularly posting files in a way they have learnt ALL
get the files. I AM pointing to those who THINK they
know and just drop whatever wherever and run for the
hills when any review of the method is posted.
The former are well worth any effort in educating,
being well meaning generous folk lacking only a few
skills which they quickly take on in learning. The
latter I have pretty much given up on.. they are just
the flotsam of Usenet and not worth the effort in
pointing advice at.
That JoeMoe character
(and a hundred other names)
is one such clueless dolt.
The Gymmy Bob/J P Bengi moron, attempting
forgery of my known ID, is another.
>Thanks for the patience and help.

You choose where you want to be in ABCP, fush.
Nobody can decide that for you. You get the above as I
did read Pixie before posting what I was originally
going to post in response.. a "one liner" along the
lines of GFYBM.
Pixie obviously thinks you are worth some keystrokes
in 'saving'.. I respect that poster's knowledge here in
this NG. There is why you get this "epistle", I have
much more... much much more.
So thank Pixie IF you get any more... or you can just
"run and hide".. as do those not truly interested in
how this NG performs.. for EVERYONE.
cheers
