G'Day GTS...
I write the following in addressing leeching of posts,
as that is where your question is headed.
In reality the answer is for posters to read as that is
where the problem/s lie, in this instance. However
there is other news, for yourself and those leeching
posts.
News is....
Part of the learning curve is to grab an understanding
there are some posters of material to Usenet who can
never be reached."Reached" meaning they are either "not
around" and/or "not tuned" to correction of their
'style'.
Both for a variety of reasons.
I wont bring those reasons to this post. Another time,
maybe.
However will find an excellent example of this very
phenomenon right here:

.. and note, GTS.. no "newbie" neither <g>
What follows is generic advice for ABCP leeching
of posts, yet you can use it anywhere around Usenet
where you discover like problems with a download.
For ABCP, header retrieval is always done with
"auto-join" turned off. That simple step will save a
lot of grief.
The reason/s for the above all have to do with the
posting style, not any access to the post or the tool
being used variations.
Again.. that advice belongs in another 'lesson' :-)
For now we just concern ourselves with "getting a
working download".. k??
First, understand what you (user) are looking at to
determine the method of download of the articles.
There exist just two posting formats used for binary.
UUencode and yEnc encoded.
To determine which is what you look at the raw message.
Tick this option in Agent:
Message>ShowRawMessage
Open the first article in a post and you will see these
lines at the very beginning of the "gobble-d-dook"
