The so-called 'African' race have undergone many euphemistic changes
in America: 'African',' Negro'.'Nii**e'r, 'Black', African American.
The term Black was used and accepted in the early 70's but was changed
to African American in recent time as a more specific regional
designation, which is actually false, since many people of the Negro
race also come from Jamaica and other island groups. They are not the
only American minority, but most personally challanged by racial
scrutiny from their fellow citizens and bear the burden of racism more
than any other ethnic group. You mentioned Native Americans, which are
actually immune from much of the American racism simply because they
are American aboriginals and insulated with a pseudo pagan religion
which smacks of honour, valor and tribal loyalty.
The American Nego citizen, however, has been associated with a
primitive civilisation considered a few steps up from Neaderthnl and
responsible for much of the violent crimes in the country simply by
virtue of their heritage. Social reform and integration has done
little to releive this racist attitude but prompted the American Negro
to stand his ground and proclaim his true heritage as one pure and
nonassuming and state his position as a true American.
There will alway be prejudice, this is Human nature, but the real
value comes from rising above this barrier and staking your claim as
one of of your fellows.
Quite frankly, if I were American and had to vote in the coming
election, I would want the Black Guy simply because he is the better
choice to lead the country.
