As you made a few relevant remarks, I thought that I might add my
thinking to the mix.
Torrents: If you have twitter, you can see some of what is happening
by following @torrentfreak It seems that there is currently a growing
movement by the anti-piracy orgs that is getting a bit nasty. Torrent
sites are getting closed here and there and people who have been
sharing are getting nasty letters or prosecutions. One of the
insecurities of torrenting is that you have to reveal your IP address
[using a VPN does not confer immunity from detection]. My big hate
about torrents is that you need to seed back what you download, and
that's not always possible without a decent upload speed.
How long will we be around? I'm into my 60s, and next year I plan to
move to another country for an easy life in retirement [where my
retirement dollar will go a lot further and the maidens are more
"accommodating']. The internet is better there, but I don't know how
I'll feel about spending time at a computer making RARs and PARs when
there is the "afterlife" to be lived and enjoyed. I'll find out when
the time comes.
In the meantime, I see that there are a whole heap of interesting
docos going up here and on a.b.docs, so my thanks to you and all
others who have participated. Docos that I don't need to seed back :-D
