Same here. Television shows seem to have better value - many more hours
of story. I'm amazed that I'll pass on a movie because I don't want to
Invest 90 minutes on the story, but I'll pick up a television show that
runs 100 episodes?
A good book should grab your attention in the first page and never let
go. A movie or TV show should do to the same. There should always be a
moment that hooks you in and makes you want to see what happens.
I recall a moment in Buffy the Vampire Slayer where the Principal
references the Hell Mouth on the phone to someone else. That element of
secrecy was intriguing! I nearly quit watching before that moment.
