Release Notes:
Those of us who can't stop "Dead Disco" running through our heads will soon
have 10 more Metric tunes to satisfy us. The Canadian indie rockers will
release their new album, Live It Out, on September 27.
In a statement, singer/keyboardist Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw
said Live It Out is "a record full of questions and struggles as opposed to
the answers and observations" of their debut album, 2003's Old World
Underground, Where Are You Now?
Haines and Shaw dedicated Live It Out to their supportive fans. "Without
them we would have been unable to continue making music at all. We wanted
to make an album for those people and we did," they said. "The result is
10 spontaneous and heartfelt songs that fucking rock."
"Monster Hospital" is lined up as the album's first single and will be
released during the last week of August.
Seemingly impervious to fatigue are Haines and Shaw, who also perform with
Broken Social Scene when not fulfilling their duties for Metric. It
shouldn't come as a surprise that the band will go on an extensive tour in
support of the record.
