Artist Marumari with Kracfive, Greg Clow & Utility
Genre: Electronic/Noise
Notes: The small audience of about 30 allowed for a very intimate
show with lots of audience interaction. Kracfive opened with
a few interesting electronic pieces. The use of pop-radio and
MS-Windows samples became fairly tedious and annoying towards
the end though. During the break, Greg Clow and Utility let
the mood mellow out a bit with a smooth electronica DJ mix.
Marumari followed with a sweet 30 minute set of beats & bleeps
conducted solely from his Windows PC running AudioMulch. All
of the fades, filters, and pans were performed with a neat
looking customized MIDI controller. Unfortunately, Marumari's
laser projector was not computer controlled and certain
audience members took the liberty of shining it around the
room haphazardly.
