OK!! I'll let you off because you must be a newbie, but (and someone with
a better memory than me, which makes it probably 3/4s of the world :-) will
have to confirm this) I thought UVR did post a couple of films in .001
format. Since you must be a newbie I'll let you in on an old trick which
you can use for RAR files. It IS possible to view a part of a RAR file
(however all the parts must be complete as RAR tends to get snotty if it
comes up against a part that is missing a section, and you must have all
the parts up to the point you stop downloading (e.g. say you decide to
download 10 parts to see if you like the film, you will need to download
all the sections from 1-10, there can be no missing sections because again
WinRAR gets snotty when it comes across gaps). You will also need WinRAR
(I'm sure there are probably other ways of doing it, but I like WinRAR) and
then (if it comes in the format .001,.002,.003 etc, just simply download 10
parts from .001 to .010 and simply join as normal) carry out the following
-
Double click either on the semi completed RAR file or the Part1.rar, this
will automatically start WinRAR, right click on the film or the folder
(whatever happens to be there at the time :-)) and select EXTRACT TO
SPECIFIED FOLDER (Which happens to be the folder your Parts are in), ensure
that KEEP BROKEN PARTS is selected and simply press OK and press CANCEL
when the error message comes up. The part completed movie will be in a
seperate folder. I hope that is all clear. If the parts are for a ZIP
file then I'm afraid there is no way to view a part of the file and you
will need to download ALL the parts (unless someone knows different)
Can I go back to sleep now :-)
