You are right. I had this issue for some time, and I wasn't happy at all using batch files.
I found a better solution, but I don't pretend do be owner of the truth, so I asked the group
how others solve these cases, and when verified my solution was much easier, explained it.

ReNamer's presets are text files, can be shared. if you need to do anything real difficult,
I might have already a preset for that task, or maybe I can do it in a flash. Let me know and I'll be happy
to help.

I felt pre-historic myself many times before using ReNamer... I even had some
QuickBasic 4.5 programs, but long names did not work at all :-)
