I just read a report put out by the Police Department in Florence,
Italy. Recently throughout Tuscany there has been a rash of tasteless
photograph defacement.
The attached photo is an example of the suspected offender's damaging
work. He seems to enjoy destroying logos, trademarks, and jpeg
numbers and adding graffiti and other personal nonsense to
professional works.
The offender is believed to be a Caucasian male, middle-aged, six feet
tall, about 180 lbs., and is believed to be a failed artist or
photographer.
A number of famous photographers have been in contact with the Chief
of Police and have voiced their horror and disgust at the defacement
of their fine art.
A new Florence Department Office has been created, called "Polizia
Graffitia", to deal with this, and other offenders. The department
head is offering 10,000 Euros for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of this imposter. If you come across this person, be
very cautious. He is reported to be in possession of unlimited Adobe
Photoshop filters, and should therefore be considered armed and
dangerous.
If you have any information about this heinous criminal, please notify
the authorities.
