This show was uploaded as part of the River Flood and was described in the infofile (copied below) as "Poor Sounding Show". This was one of many shows I have been looking out for and I have recently located a live link to a copy of the show in the BTX mp3 request thread. If the mp3s reflect the original River Flood upload then personally I would describe the quality as varying from below average to poor or even dire. As far as I can establish it is the only version of this show collectors have and it is not a good one.
This tape copy is clearly from the same source and shares the same weird "edit" in Jungleland. In the main it is a much fresher sounding generation so on that basis alone it is probably worth an upload but in addition it also fixes some serious problems with the River Flood version. There are still many tape burps for example in Sherry Darling but although for many songs this version is still below average quality it is now always listenable. In some places it is quite good and Growin Up with its corny story is great fun. Be warned however that this version is still more likely to find favour with completists looking for an upgrade.
Transfer/Trade and Generation Info: Tape transfer
2 Sony HF90 cassettes from a UK Record Fair in the early to mid 1980s.
Playback via Yamaha KX480 tape deck with play trim at neutral except for the first few songs on the second tape side (The promised Land) where I set play trim at about the 2 O'Clock position until I changed my mind. Dolby B for the first 3 tape sides but Dolby off for the last tape side which sounded very flat when using Dolby. I know the recommendation is not to use Dolby but the first tape was far too bright for my taste with Dolby off and I have to listen to it repeatedly to do the transfer. The deck I use is quite a good one so hopefully this will not cause a problem.
Recorded using Audacity, exported as flac files and tracks split using CD Wave.
Files tested and checked for errors and SBEs using TLH.
Tape changes at Two Hearts into The Promised Land, at Cadillac Ranch into Sherry Darling and Rosalita into Jungleland. "Fades" are as on the tape.
At the end of Two Hearts there was a brief gap followed by a substantial snippet of the Promised Land until the tape ran out which I have included as an add on in case any completist is interested. I dont think it adds anything but you never know.

The track times for this version are now way out compared with the River Flood version. In a couple of cases well over 3 minutes different. The original times can be seen below. I have included the original front artwork since this is an upgrade to same source and therefore seems legitimate to use it. The 19810719_back.jpg was no longer entirely appropriate for this tape transfer and I have done a rough and ready hack to compensate and to allow for different disc burning options.
For disc burning I would suggest 001-014 for the opening set on CD1, 015-022 for CD2 and 023-025 for CD3 which is what I have tested.
The following is the content of the previous Infofile for the River Flood version included with the version from BTX.
