I read this short story in the mid-'60s about an alien invasion of
earth. The aliens were invisible clouds who latched on to any source
of electrical energy. Many died before mankind figured it out. The
story closed as the narrator got on a steam-engine driven train with
gas lights. In other words, all sources of electricity had been shut
down.
Does anyone else remember it? The story name? Author?
I know I didn't make it up. I'm not that smart.
