Actually I am not troll and just because I think the majority of
Rohmer's work is boring, is no reason to insult me. Actually I studied
film in university and I am therefore familiar, with Griffith,
Eisenstein, Pabst, Clair, Resnais, Godard etc. I just think the majority
of Rohmer's work is boring. Compared to Truffaut, Fellini, Bergman, and
Kurosawa, he sucks. I did like My Night at Maude's and Pauline at the
Beach. However, overall he is highly pretentious and boring.
Perhaps if you took yourself a little less seriously, you would realize
personal taste is not the same as overall quality. For example, I love
the playing of Wynton Kelly but he is not in the same class as Bill
Evans. I didn't say I thought Rohmer was a bad filmmaker, just a very
boring one.
Also, before you come back with accusing me of being a hypocrite because
I insulted Rohmer and say you shouldn't insult me, remember that when
you put your art out there you are opening yourself to criticism. You
are always welcome to disagree with me and offer valid criticism. When
you stoop to insulting me, you demonstrate your own ignorance.
P.S.What the hell is Saw IV? Is that some new tool by Black and Decker?
