First - Thanks RIB for the info. And Thanks to Spike for the post.
Second - Yes, I'm a Mac person but it is, unfortunately, an old one.
I'm looking into getting a newer one. H264 I can sometimes handle, but
not always. It is the X264 that brings me to a halt. I'm not a person
who likes to watch "TV" on my computer, so I like to burn it to a disc
and watch it on the TV. I am now lookin into an Oppo disc player, the
lower priced one, that is supposed to play all sorts of codecs, so I
may be able to cure my problems that way. And the MKV shell gives me
fits also...or, at least, it gives my computer fits. I still need a
newer computer, though...
Thanks for the info and the post.
