You are very welcome. The journey has/is
teaching me much, so I guess the exercise
is a "win win" :-)

You point to what it was that had me puzzled the
minute I downloaded the image.
Despite a most successful 30+ years on a
career path (physics in thermodynamics)
as an industry professional [ret]
maths has always been a struggle for myself.
Thus, no way could I make "1960 to 2009" deliver
a 50 year span, arithmetically.
I retired to that place which said..
"the 50 has nought to do with time, it is a value
of another commodity pertinent to grid iron
- unknown"
.. and went ahead with doing the work.
When you then answered my question saying the
50 _was_ a value of time I just shook my head and
thought "must be an American thing".
This acceptance is very "normal" for us
(citizens offshore to the USA)
after all America has its own version
of English, has retained the Imperial metric for
weights and measures (when the World has largely
gone to an international decimalised system) and
has installed its own unique blend of internal domestic
politics - so why not also have a quaint measure of
setting anniversary celebration notices? ;-D
Sooo.. now when you say "1960 should be
1969" my grey cells are doing cartwheels.
Sure I can change the number in a flash, but I
ask.. is this what you really want?
Using the original (assumed) metric
of 1960 - 2009 = 50 years
then it has to follow 1969 - 2009 = 40 years ??
You see the confusion?
Add to that my searches of the Net which reflect a
consistency with the original upload:

Other teams are also using the original
anniversary measure
http://www.newyorkjets.com/image_assets/8586/032509_afl_50th_anniversary_patch_logo_320.jpg
And then there is the actual story with the logo
mounted as a header:
http://www.conigliofamily.com/Oilers.htm
I guess at the end of the day it is
yourself wearing the garment the logo is
mounted on, yes? So, invoking "the customer is
always right", I make this post in asking
"are you **certain** you want that change?".
An explanation would be nice but if that
is asking too much then a simple "yes" or "no"
will get me rehashing the whole design.. no worries.
