Well SH you just fell foul of a very basic "security
risk"!!
The forger you respond to has been notified in this NG
many times, and identified each time.
You will not see these Headers in any post from myself:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express
6.00.2900.5512
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE
X-Complaints-To: abuse@teranews.com
The lines are quite plain, are they not easy to spot?
IT will be laughing itself stupid at your gullibility.
Relax.. you are just one of what is likely hundreds.
As *my* answer to your question?
Security is a delicate topic -- not easily discussed in
this NG.
There is no "plate of security please" to deliver, it
is a learned process in gathering knowledge and
building your own individual circumstance from which to
post files from.
Many many tips and hints have been published here over
time.
The best I can offer with this post is:
Tip: The very people who would hunt down a poster --
and take action -- MUST READ every post to gather a
"profile".
That is WORK -- for them.
From experience here very few (design houses) are even
bothered, and there is an argument that can be put
which says posting files here *benefits* the industry,
not detracts from it.
So, you think about it.. if the Pinkerton types MUST
READ every text post then where is the safest place to
hide tips?
IN every text post... read them all.. just do not
respond to a forgery and _prove_ you are not paying
attention.
cheers
