A fine effort! Can't really tell without stitching it out, but ...
I see that although this is a three-color design, there are nine color
changes. While it's sometimes appropriate, this design only needs each
color to appear once.
If you look closely at the design, it appears that the square is
broken into three parts; each segment of the square has borders,
including the edges that are up agains the compass. This is more a
design and planning issue than a digitizing function. Whether and
where to put borders is a perennial question!
Because most of what I do is done with auto-digitizers with just a
little manual tweaking, I tend to end up with some of same
fill-pattern characteristics as your Masonic emblem. Namely, patterns
that go all in one direction or that don't make sense. For instance,
the stitches in the compass hinge would make better sense if they were
radial, and in each leg of the compass if they were orthogonal to eacj
leg, or at least if one leg mirrored the other.
The G and the inch markings look particularly good.
I'd like to reiterate that this is much better than anything I could
do! I'm glad that nobody's asked me to criticize my own stuff!
Hope this helps -
- Herb
