Just looked.. you are driving Ver5.+ so you might have to search
how to do this.
Hit the "H" key whilst reading this post.
Now you have what I see when reading any post.. that's _any_
post. I never turn headers off, have not done so for more than a decade.
The screen is known a as "Header view" or "Show all Headers"... and the
permanent toggle for it is under the "Messages" field in the toolbar.
Now...
In that view look for this line:
Path:[x]core-easynews-01!easynews.com!en-nntp-05.dc1.easynews.com.POSTED!not-for-mail
You see this text ???-------------------------->^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That tells me (and anyone looking) you ARE using an EasyNews account.
Other lines in the header view you are looking at can be "fudged"
The n-f-m hop/origin can be made to something else too.. but these days it is
automatic account cancellation... silly to even go to the trouble required
to do it.
NL folk have _no control_ over their Path.
We can use their servers, sure, but the path out of NL to you is always in that line.
Now you go check any post you physically recognise as a Netherlands poster.
You will see any variation of this "kabelfoon.nl" somewhere in the Path line.
[ummm try not to giggle at what that domain name sounds like in English
we *are* being serious in this mini-tute.. heh heh<g>]
Ok.. now you know what to look for here is what you do.
For any post where the poster's name is the default of the posting program
you choose one article, one only.
You download that article and check the Path header.
You see _anything_ that even remotely looks like a NL domain, can the post.
Wait a few days, or a week even and see what others say about it.
Usually no news is good news, but often folks will provide feedback, of some kind.
Never rush in and download _anything_ from a NL domain.
That bit of advice will save you hours of work and worry.
Either Jean, or I suspect an urger who is using him, also runs a GN account.
I am yet to see IT post any binary from it,, probably as it is worried about losing
the account.
The people in Holland seem to have a general problem getting offshore accounts.
.anything else M'Lady?? :-)
