Restoring weeks/months of work is always a daunting task and
relies heavily on human memory. IF my experience is any measure
one finds one forgets things and discovers weeks after a
"manual" restore something crucial has been forgotten.
Finding and putting that bit back is often a trial, particularly when
done in a rush... as is often the case due to the necessity that
pinged the memory in the first place.
The method I use is fast and complete. It does though only cover the
computer c:/drive, restoring the working bits of the computer to the
exact state the box was in when the "backup" was done.
The same process can be used on any other drive/partition on
a single machine simply by changing the target destinations.
However as efficient as this is I still recommend always using
a "write to disk" method for storing single files and complete
archives (folders) of work done.
And as you (CA) are doing.. every week is good practice :-)
As an introduction..?.. might I ask which method you (CA) are using
to partition a hard drive or are you using the "mount two physical
hard drives to my box thank you" method when buying the machine??
.. thanks for your question (?) question, CA :-)
