I must say, in recent years, it has been the Minorities themselves who
have chosen the designations they prefer. Growing up, I first used
"colored," then "Negro," then "Black," now "African-American,"
"Latino," and so forth. It is quite a strain for us palefaces,
especially those who want be sensitive to racial issues, to keep up.
But, hey, guys, why call each other names? Exactly the wrong approach,
it seems to me.
