This is not exactly true. According to its documentation, you must give
the password you set it to use. But you can also change your password at
any time. Or at least, the documentation claims. I, however, can't seem
to do anything with this program. Every time I launch it, it just shows
an input password dialog and I don't know what password to give it. I'm
on Vista and have tried running it in XP Compatibility mode. No go.
Why must we use these outdated programs when we have nice, MAINTAINED and
WELL-DOCUMENTED programs like truecrypt we can use to encrypt files? SFE
appears to have been abandoned in 2003. I tried to e-mail their support
people and the message bounced back as undeliverable. Their website is
also strangely devoid of any help articles whatsoever.
Still if anyone can help me get SFE working I would be in your debt.
